(Ricky Ricardo) has performed in theaters around the country in a variety of new plays, classics and musicals. Most recently, he did a staged reading of the sitcom pilot, “I’ve Got a Life in Kalamazoo” with Ed Asner, Marion Ross, Vikki Lewis and Greg Jbarra. He completed an extended run as Ricky Ricardo in I Love Lucy® Live On Stage at the Broadway Playhouse in Chicago and originated the role in the Los Angeles production. He was also honored with the Best Actor Broadway World award for the role. Several of his favorite theatre roles include Sydney Trefusis in Jeffrey Hatcher’s Smash, Quasimodo in The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Benedick in Much Ado about Nothing and the title role in Hamlet. Film credits include Soldier of God, a feature that gained numerous Best Picture awards in film festivals in the U.S. and in Europe, Dead Border, and two roles in the animated feature, Race. He has enjoyed many commercial appearances along with a role on “Days of Our Lives” and the lead in the web series “The Sanctum”. Mr. Mendieta also co-created, produced and directed the comedy web series, “Mob Boss Associate”, the short Doggie Dish, Slow Dance and directed many test commercials for Mattel. He has also directed a number of plays including Romeo and Juliet, A Midsummer Night’s Dream in addition to the world premieres of Beauty, Brains and Personality and Pray To Ball.
